Help your students recognize what skills good scientists use with these bright and colorful science process skills posters. The 15 posters highlight the science process skills and give a brief description of what each skill means.
There are 14 8.5 x 11 science process skill posters, one title poster, and two pages of mini-posters which are intended to be photocopied and passed out to students to keep in their binders or to parents to keep at home as a reference.
The 14 process skills covered in this poster set are:
- Scientific Method
- Use Numbers
- Define Operationally
- Form Models
- Interpret Data
This poster set is fantastic at helping students focus on what science skills they use during classroom and lab experiences. During each lab experience in my classroom students use these posters, and the mini-guide in their binder, to identify three to five skills they used and write about how they used each one during the lab. Regularly identifying the science process skills as a part of the lab experience has dramatically helped my students recognize and understand what it means to be a scientist and improved their science state test scores.
Please note there are two versions of the Experiment poster. One features a white boy and the other a black girl. When I originally created these posters I worked at a mostly minority all-girls school, but have switched to a school with a much different student population so I updated the posters for my room. I kept both versions in this download so you can use the one that works best for your student population.
The borders on the posters were created by K is for Kinderific. Please stop by her shop and take a look at her other wonderful materials.
