Description
Science class isn’t always just about the experiment kit itself, there are many language and life skills to be learnt along the way. This resource was originally created as I struggled to make the school provided science kits stretch to fill an entire 30-minute class. The Science Report series is designed to encourage students to flex and stretch their critical thinking skills while they learn how the experiment process works.
Increasing the difficulty, level two asks three questions about the experiment, introducing a list space for the materials they used. The lines used are large and guided, as this level is aimed at lower level or younger students who are still early on in their writing journey. There is a large space provided for the students to draw their experiments after they are completed.
Each month, there is a review page for the students to reflect and revisit the past experiments. It asks them to consider which experiment was their favorite, why, and what they have learnt through their scientific experiments. It again provides a space for drawing.
This is a no prep, black and white friendly workbook! Simply print, staple, and go! Also included is a lesson plan template and a completed example.
Focus Skills:
- Critical thinking
- Problem solving
- Summarizing
- Experiment processes
