Science Investigation and Reasoning: Science Safety and Protection

Learning Goal: The student uses scientific inquiry methods during laboratory and outdoor investigations.

A science notebook is an amazing strategy for your students to record and reflect on inquiry-based observations, activities, investigations, and experiments that will increase their comprehension and understanding of science instruction. The science notebook can be an excellent tool for students to communicate their understanding of science concepts. Science notebooks give teachers the opportunity to provide students with immediate feedback and assess their learning. Science notebooks are a great way for teachers to integrate science experiences with reading, writing and mathematics.

This resource addresses the following concepts:
The student conducts classroom and outdoor investigations following home and school safety procedures and environmentally appropriate and ethical practices. The student is expected to demonstrate safe practices and the use of safety equipment and following Safety Standards during classroom and outdoor investigations.
