Calling all scientists! This activity can be used to launch a scientific method unit in order to introduce students to science tools they may encounter throughout the year.

This resource includes:

• science tool excerpts
• two graphic organizers (with and without lines)
• matching activity

I have used the science tool excerpts in two ways:

1. Excerpts are placed around the classroom. Students travel around the room with the graphic organizer to read and take notes about each tool.
2. Students remain seated. A timer is set. Teacher will rotate the excerpt cards to students each time the timer rings.
