Description
This unit is a series of activities and experiments designed to introduce children to science ideas such as fair tests and the scientific process. There are three experiments that guide students through the process of asking a question, making an hypothesis, carrying out an experiment, recording observations, and making conclusions.
The three experiments give children opportunities to learn more about fascinating mealworms.
This unit was written as part of a larger unit on growing and changing. See more ideas from this bigger unit (including some freebies) on my blog: The Learning Curve. http://thelcurve.blogspot.com.au/

We did this as a class project with my kindergarteners. They loved the idea of doing a science experiment. It was great to expose them to science language and processes at this early age.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the activities!
This is a fantastic resource! I love the experiments that can be done with meal worms. Made our science so much more fun.
I have to admit--when I transferred to teaching 2nd grade, and found out we do mealworms as a part of our life science unit, I was not exactly thrilled. Your resource has really helped me build into the focus on this insect. The students really enjoy it! Thank you!
The students really enjoyed this! It is simple to modify to fit a wide range of students
