Description
Making observations is one of the first steps in the scientific process. Use these slides to teach, then students will work through a collaborative activity by using observation skills to describe a hidden picture to their peers who will then try to draw the picture based on the details given by the student. A fun way to get students thinking about only what they see and not what they infer!
Link to activity is within the slides. Put one picture in a folder so it is hidden from the group. One student in the group will look at the activity and describe what is in the picture to the group. Using the worksheet (linked in slides), students will attempt to draw the image based on the details given by the lead student. As time comes to an and for that station, lead student should show the picture to the group, place it back in the folder, then move to the next folder. A different student will take the lead.
