Description

How many of your students use scratch paper on their online reading? My guess would be none! Scratch paper is often an automatic tool students are able to receive on tests and can be invaluable for writing notes over reading passages and remembering what they've read!

This poster will help you and your students navigate how to use scratch paper as an effective tool on digital or paper reading standardized tests. The poster also includes tips for students on how to recognized what a main idea is!

Here is the method:

1. Students fold their paper into 4-6 long sections.

2. Students create a "table of contents" for each reading passage--writing only a few words per section.

3. Students can use these notes to remember what was said in a paragraph, or to compare two texts side by side!

I have used this method with great success with my students, and I hope it will be a blessing to yours as well! If you use it in your class, please leave a review to let me know how it went!

Original poster size: 36x24in.
