Seasonal Visual Memory & Sequencing Activity

Strengthen visual memory and sequencing skills with this fun, seasonal activity that can be used all year long! Designed with older learners in mind, this resource is always a favorite with my middle school students. This activity can also be adapted for younger students by having them create their own patterns and write the name of each item to reinforce handwriting and early writing skills. This simple extension adds opportunities to practice patterning, letter formation, and written expression while keeping students engaged.

This packet includes blank pages for your students to come up with their own themes or items!

Students study a sequence of pictures, memorize the order, and then recreate the sequence from memory. This hands-on activity can be easily adapted to meet a variety of skill levels and adds a fun challenge to therapy sessions or classroom activities.

This packet includes memory strips for all four seasons, image page and a blank memory strip page and image page for students to create their own.

Directions:

Cut apart each row and then cut out the individual picture cards on the final page. For durability and repeated use, laminate the cards after cutting.

Show students a row of images for several seconds, then remove it and have them place the picture cards back in the correct sequence from memory.

Depending on the student goals, incorporate the cards into an obstacle course or encourage students to create a story using the images after completing the sequencing task!
