I assign my students to tables and each table has a color. I have 8 tables, but you can add more or delete if you have a different number.

This is a great visual to display on the screen and to print out for substitute teachers.

Students can enter the classroom, see their name and find their table quickly and easily. It is also very helpful when you need to reassign seats.
