2nd Grade Read Aloud Lessons are aligned to 2nd Grade VA SOLs.

Includes 28 weeks worth of lessons- these lessons take me through the entire school year! Lessons include quick instructions for what to do before, during, & after reading. No more scrambling to find books to help you teach a particular skill- they are all right here! The books are also aligned to VA Science and Social Studies content taught during the year.

Includes the following topics:
2.7.a Use knowledge of homophones.
2.7.b Use knowledge of prefixes & suffixes.
2.7.c Use knowledge of antonyms & synonyms.
2.8.a Fiction– Make & confirm predictions
2.8.b Fiction– Relate previous experiences to the main idea.
2.8.c Fiction– Ask & answer questions about what is read.
2.8.d Fiction– Locate information to answer questions.
2.8.e Fiction- Describe characters, setting, & important events in fiction & poetry.
2.8.f Fiction– Identify the problem & solution.
2.8.g Fiction– Identify the main idea.
2.8.h Fiction- Summarize stories & events with beginning, middle, & end in sequence.
2.8.i Fiction– Draw conclusions based on the text.
2.9.a Nonfiction– Preview using text features.
2.9.b Nonfiction– Make & confirm predictions about main idea.
2.9.c Nonfiction– Use prior & background knowledge as context for new learning.
2.9.d Nonfiction– Set purpose for reading.
2.9.e Nonfiction– Ask &answer questions about what is read.
2.9.fNonfiction– Locate information to answer questions.
2.9.g Nonfiction– Identify the main idea.
2.10.a Use table of contents.
2.10.b Use pictures, captions, & charts.
2.10.c Use dictionaries, glossaries, & indices.

*Some standards have more than one weeks worth of lessons because we revisit it throughout the school year.*

This is not worth the money at all. It just lists books and gives a before, during & after idea. We already do this as teachers. My download DID NOT come with 60 pages. I should have known that it was not a quality purchase when it did not include a preview. DO NOT BUY IT.
