Description

This "secret message" activity will amuse your students and teach them about multiplying fractions by factors less than, greater than, or equal to one, and why the products change accordingly.

Directions: In each row, circle the words or symbol that correctly completes each statement. Then in each row, circle the letter next to the expression that is worth more.

At the end, read the message from top to bottom. It reads, "Compare it to a whole" (The other letters spell "A product can shrink").

And all you have to do is copy it! The prep is all done for you. It's easy to check. Just see if they found the secret message! It's up to you to determine how much work you require your students to show. Use it as group work, homework, enrichment, or extra practice.
