A glimpse at how I use this resource in my own classroom:
(See my instagram highlights to view in action! @mrsrainbowbright)
This routine helps get my students focused the instant they step through my door!
When I walk my students to our classroom in the morning they hang up their backpacks and line up to enter the classroom. The Daily Password Sign is posted at student eye level right next to the door. I post a sticky note with a different password every day ( I start with letters and move to sight words for kinder!). The students whisper the password in my ear on their way into the class (such a great way to assess which students need more help right off the bat!) and then they go straight to their seat to record the password in their Daily Password Journal, which I have displayed on the board in case they need a reminder! This routine takes about 5 minutes once they get the hang of it and it ensures that my students start their day reading and writing! I also love that each student has a chance to speak with me before we even start our morning! I hope you love this resource as much as my students and I do!
