Description
Do you need a self-checking activity that also gets your students up out of their seats? These linear equations task cards include 16 problems that require students to write equations using slope-intercept, point-slope, and standard forms. Your students will also write equations from a graph, using two points, one point and a slope, and rewrite the equations from one form to another.
Since these linear equations task cards are self-checking, your students can work independently or in pairs to complete these with little to no help from you. You will finally be able to walk around the room and observe while your students problem-solve and discuss strategies. These task cards also include an identical set with QR Codes removed.Ā

This writing linear equations activity includes:
ā 16 questions for rewriting linear equations
ā Slope-intercept, point-slope, and standard forms
ā Student recording sheet
ā Self-checking digital task cards
ā Printable task cards with or without QR codes
ā Teacher directions and answer keys
How to use the digital activity:
Share this activity with your students directly through Google Classroom or have them make a copy of your view only version. When a student solves each problem correctly, the answer box turns green.
Ways to use these linear equations task cards in your Algebra 1 class:
Individual Whiteboards - Present a task card to the whole class for your students to complete individually at their desks. Once they have solved the problem, they can show you their whiteboard and you can give them immediate feedback. This is my go-to activity when my original lesson plan doesn't work out or my students need extra practice before moving on to the next skill.
Gallery walk - Hang task cards around the room and have small groups work to solve the answers. Rotate the students and have the next group add to the previous group's work with a different strategy, idea, etc.
Test review - Mix and match the task cards to assess your students' understanding of the material before test day.
