I am very comprehensive in both education and counseling work. I love to encourage independent thought and self-learning through hands-on activities. I would much rather ask questions, teach problem-solving skills, and let students arrive at their own conclusions rather than giving answers. I believe in positive reinforcement, fostering growth-mindsets, and building on strengths.
My counseling theoretical orientation is multimodal in that I align with and pull aspects from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I align programming to the American School Counseling Association National Model.
