Description

If your students face challenges forming / building complete basic sentences or understanding sentence structure, this engaging worksheets and task cards resource can be a real effective teaching tool. Beginning with short sentence structures and gradually increasing lenght, always based on key words, this material uses visual support as a guide (instructionally and ascertainly) while maintaining motivation. This sentence writing resource can become the structured teaching tool for your special education needs students, your literacy challenged students and also your young writers and readers in 1st and 2nd grade, for enhanced sentence construction and communication skills. It can also serve as an excellent pre-reading and Speech Therapy material.

In terms of reading and writing text:

  • It uses symbols or blacklined illustrations mixed with words, as a visual aid that can gradually fade and disappear, with just words remaining. In total, there are 3 different types of sentences formats for each picture theme
  • It offers tracing-the-words of the sentence opportunities and copy frames
  • Also, blank frames under each theme
  • The sentences (all 3 types, plus a tracing type) are also provided seperately in the form of strip cards to compare, use with your own projects or cut and paste / hook and loop to the task cards with just the picture theme and blank frames (missing text)

* You also get the picture themes in the form of smaller Flash Cards, to use individually or in combination with the sentence strips.

The key words used are: in front of, behind, green, brown, tall, short, metal, wooden, strong, broken.
