After students have learned to use modifiers (adjectives and adverbs), prepositional phrases, participles (-ing words), and appositives, this review lesson and activity are a fun way for students to put this knowledge to work. This SMART Board lesson provides whole class guided practice, partner work time, and an independent activity centered around a sentence expansion and revision activity. The final step of each sentence expansion exercise is to revise the sentence to make it the best it can be and avoid unnecessarily lengthy or run-on sentences.
