Description

Lesson, practice, and assessment included! Review the structure of simple, compound, and complex sentence structure. Have students follow along using the notes handout. It works best if they color code with highlighters that correspond to the colors used in the PowerPoint. An additional slide in the PowerPoint serves as a brief review. There are 3 different quizzes (of 8 questions each) that assess a student's ability to distinguish between simple, compound, and complex sentences as well as an incomplete dependent clause. BEFORE THE QUIZ, use the mystery picture pixel art practice.

Note: I introduce my students to compound-complex sentences later. It always surprises me how much difficulty they have with the initial 3 sentence types.
