Description
Here is a fun way to teach your students how to write a sentence! You can do as a class, small group, literacy center, or independent work. One lesson or several lessons. There are Six spinners -Adjectives, Nouns (who), and Verbs, plus Adverbs, Nouns (where), and a blank spinner where students can make their own! There is also a page with the pointer arrows. I would suggest you print these out on cardstock so the paper is a little stiffer, but will work on regular paper. I did one lesson with just verbs, adjectives, and nouns, then taught additional lessons adding adverbs, and adjectives. It is a fun way to model how to write a grammatically correct sentence and how to add details to your sentences. Here are a couple of my students' favourite sentences "The clumsy teacher slowly wiggled on a log." and "The purple chicken gracefully danced down the slide." I even thought of having them illustrate their sentences or making a little book of their sentences after doing this activity!
