Description

This pack contains a compressed zip file containing 4 weeks of daily math warm-up drills. Each day, students will spend 5-10 minutes doing quick repetitive drills such as addition and subtraction fluency, which number is greater, counting, and word problems to increase students understanding of first grade skills.

My colleagues and I started using this packet last year hoping to see an increase in student scores on fluency drills and on the Aimsweb assessment. Our struggling students saw dramatic gains on both the winter and spring assessments.

I will be creating a new set of warm-up drills each month that will gradually increase in difficulty. Each week will include 3 days of which number is greater and 2 days of addition and subtraction fluency along with other activities that support student comprehension of 1st grade standards such as word problems, patterns, equality, time, money, counting, base ten, shapes, and more.

The file is created in PowerPoint, but I have included easy to follow directions for converting it to Google Slides.
