Description

Introduction to Shakespeare Presentation can be used with ANY Shakespeare unit!

Shakespeare Life and Times Introduction and History Powerpoint Presentation - can be used easily for distance learning as I have provided links for a Google Slides version, as well!

An excellent introduction and thorough history of the life and times of William Shakespeare. This can be shown before you read or act any of Shakespeare's plays, sonnets, or lengthy poems. It includes a two-page handout with answer key. This file is also EDITABLE!

UPDATED TO INCLUDE 100+ SLIDES!

Packed with over 100 slides that summarize his life, the Elizabethan Era, other playwrights, style of writing (iambic pentameter), theaters of the time (The Theatre, The Globe, The Rose, The Swan, The Blackfriars), the impact of the printing press, turmoil in England, Queen Elizabeth, and King James I.

The slides are clean and visually stimulating with high-quality pictures. Lots of visual aids with the perfect mix of information (none of the slides are bogged down with excess text that might put your students to sleep).

Fully editable if you'd like to add more or make changes. It's also filled with some weird facts to add intrigue to your lesson.

Many of the slides include extensive teacher's notes, so be sure you have the view option for seeing the notes section as you peruse the Powerpoint file. This can also be opened in Keynote for Mac users.

Excellent resource to use with a grade 12 class. Well constructed and informative. This slideshow was a life saver because I didn't have the time to put an introductory slideshow together.

I loved this resource. It's very engaging, and my students found some of the facts very interesting. This is one I will always use. My only issue is that the key did not match up with the worksheet. At number 5, the worksheet discusses the flag while the answer key discusses other prominent playwrights.
