How to Play
This activity is great for a center, or for independent seat work. I recommend laminating the product so it lasts longer, especially with the younger kids.
Cut out all 36 pieces, and stack them in a pile, spread them out on the table, or hold them in your hand, it does not matter. Decide which activity you would like to play (sort by color, or sort by shape), and choose the appropriate mat.
This activity comes with two mats: one to sort by color and one to sort by shape, and 36 game pieces. Six shapes are used in the game: circle, square, rectangle, star, triangle, and pentagon, and there are six different colors for each shape: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
I always ask my students to let me check their mats before they put them away, or start another activity.
