This Shared Readings and Lesson Plans resource for Grade 2 Language includes 15 original texts perfect for shared reading, along with a 7-page lesson plan, and 18 pages of activity worksheets.

Shared reading is an interactive reading experience that engages students with a text that is at a level slightly above what they can read on their own. It is meant to be a 15-20 minute daily literacy component. 

This resource is intended to be used during the spring season, for about 2.5 months of the school year. Readings connect to the spring season and Grade 2 social studies and health topics. Each text (reading) can be used for one week (5-days) during the language and literacy block. 

Lesson plans are aligned with the NEW 2023 Ontario Language Curriculum (Strand B. Foundations of Language and Strand C. Comprehension)
