Description

Welcome to the shark tank! Bring your students into the world of business where they must make decisions about product cost, design, marketing, and much more!

Students will follow this process to get from an idea to the tank:

-Watch example pitches from the real Shark Tank to get inspired

-Brainstorm problems and possible solutions

-Design and describe their own unique invention

-Calculate cost and profit while making decisions about materials and packaging (option of using decimals OR whole numbers!)

-Create an advertisement to market their product

-Prepare answers to questions the sharks might ask in the tank

-Write their own persuasive "pitch" to try to get the sharks to invest in their product!

It doesn't get more real-world than this! Your students will be entertained for hours, while thinking critically about how the decisions they make will impact their business. What are you waiting for?

Great value
This was an outstanding project-based learning experience for my students! The Shark Tank Invention unit was highly engaging and encouraged creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking from start to finish. Students were excited to design their own products, develop presentations, and “pitch” their ideas just like real entrepreneurs. It also strengthened their writing, speaking, and problem-solving skills in a meaningful way. The structure is clear, easy to implement, and keeps students motivated throughout the entire process. A fantastic, real-world ELA connection—highly recommend!
