This Sharks Nonfiction Unit is an absolute gem for incorporating high-interest science content into our ELA block! The informational text is perfectly leveled for third graders, and the read-aloud book format is fantastic for teaching difficult concepts like text features and vocabulary. I especially appreciate the included comprehension activities which go beyond basic recall, prompting deeper thinking and analysis. It's a comprehensive, no-prep resource that keeps students captivated and meets those critical informational reading standards. Highly recommended for a successful science and literacy cross-curricular unit!
