Description
Onset and Rime Short Vowels Printables are an ideal resource for you to use with the kids to practice matching the onset to the rime and the rime to the onset. This phonics resource is a hands-on activity that will introduce your students to the word list for each short vowel.
The students will begin with a homework assignment tracing the CVC words. Then they take the words to the next step by sorting them by the short vowel sound. The guided practice has been differentiated to meet the levels of your students. You choose and assign what your students are ready to work on.
Anchor Charts have been included to model and define for students what an onset is and what a rime is, teaching academic vocabulary.
