This is just a simple PowerPoint that I made for decoding short a pattern words. Each slide contains a chart of one pattern. The patterns contained in this slideshow are: at, ap, ad, ab, an, ag, am, ast, ack, and three slides of mixed practice. The words include CVC words, short vowel patterns with two and three letter blends, sh, ch, and wh. There are eleven slides for practice.

I start my students out by modeling the decoding skill. Then I have them decode the words in unison. After the children understand how to use the slideshow, then I let them practice with partners as a center activity.
