"I've used this resource as a reminder to my students about not blurting out. My kiddos struggle with blurting a lot so this serves as a good reminder of what they need to do."

Description

This "Shouting Out Hand" is a great visual for students who tend to blurt out! There are 4 options to print, cut, and laminate:

1. Raise your hand to speak.

2. It is ok if I do not get called on. I have to let others have a turn to speak. I can try again next time!

3. I will raise my hand to speak!

4. I can wait for my turn to speak!

Suggestions for use:

Print, cut, and laminate. Tape to student's desk. Select your criteria for success and any consequences ahead of time. I like to use 5 clear "gemstones" (dollar store decorative gems) on top of the colored dots so you can still see the colors. If a student shouts out, one gem is removed. Attach velcro to the pieces and the colored dots if you think a student may end up playing with them throughout the day. Observe shouting out decrease!
