Description

I created this based on the already popular game, Shut the Box. It's a great way to practice addition and multiplication facts.

Your purchase will include a PDF with links to the ready-to-print file in Canva and Google Slides. Simply download the files as a PDF and print! *For PowerPoint, open in Canva and down load as PPT.

  • Gameboard (Use 1 board for 1-4 players or teams).
  • Original and Alternate rules and scoring guidelines
  • 18 Factor Cards for multiplication practice

The game can also be used to practice multiplication and division facts. Use the included product cards instead of dice. Place the cards in the center (or give each student/team their own stack) and have kids take turns flipping and covering the numbers that equal the total when multiplied.

*Alternate scoring guidelines help students practice place value as well!

Use place value understanding to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
Find whole-number quotients of whole numbers with up to four-digit dividends and two-digit divisors, using strategies based on place value, the properties of operations, and/or the relationship between multiplication and division. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
