Get Creative: Flashcards can be used in so many ways! Try laying them down, gather some pieces for pawns and a die and race to the end. Play story time eye spy by picking out a few words and see if your child can spy them while reading their favorite stories. Grab some paper or favorite stuff animal to create sentences with the cards. For example: "My" (insert favorite toy) "was" sleeping (have favorite toy pretend to sleep). You or your child could also draw pictures to put in place of physical object. Hide and seek is another low prep game; simply hide the cards around the room while your child covers their eyes. See how many they can find and read correctly in a set time. See if they can beat their time.
