Figurative Language Activities: Similes and Metaphors Task Cards, Anchor Charts, and Worksheets

Are you ready to help your students understand the difference between similes and metaphors in a FUN and engaging way?

This simile and metaphor worksheets, task cards, and activities pack was created for 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. It can be used for whole-class figurative language instruction, literacy stations or centers, or small groups.

NOTE: You will find the link and instructions for Google on the final seven pages in the file.

This file includes the following:

  • Four simile and metaphor instructional sheets
  • 36 task cards with varying student requirements
  • A task card answer sheet
  • Task card answer key
  • Three worksheets (answers on the worksheets will vary)

NOTE: THIS FILE INCLUDES A DIGITAL DISTANCE LEARNING OPTION!

This product includes a digital option (as well as the no prep printable option). The digital portion instructions appear at the end of the packet.

This is a great resource to have on hand!
