In this mini-unit, you will find some great resources to supplement your instruction on simple machines (levers, wheels and axles, pulleys, wedges, inclined planes, and screws). Included is:

Vocabulary Signs (work, force)
What is Work? (introductory whole group or center activity)
Make It Easier! (simple machines matching and sorting activity)
3 experiements with recording sheets (exploring inclined planes, levers, and wheels)
1 Design Challenge (students design a complex machine)

These activities are designed for 2nd and 3rd grade, and can be modified to suit 1st or 4th.
