Description

Are you looking for a way for students to apply their knowledge of simple machines in a fun and engaging way? These STEM projects are perfect to engage and challenge your gifted and talented and high-achieving students while still addressing science standards.

Students will use their knowledge of simple machines to create a chain reaction machine to trap a mouse, trap a leprechaun, and catch a turkey. Following the engineering design process, they'll ask, imagine, plan, create, test, improve, and reflect.

This challenge involves incorporating at least two simple machines and devising a way to interconnect them, enabling the trap to function independently.

This challenge can be completed with classroom objects. Helpful objects include ramps, cars, balls, dominoes, paper cups, blocks, and cardboard.

Please note that this bundle is available at a significantly reduced price because the challenges are very similar with different themes.

Met expectations
Great value
Standards-aligned
I used this as an opening activity for stem club. I like the set up and the kids loved it. However I did need to plan more time for using. I will in the future, which should make it more enjoyable for all.
