These Simple Machine Classification Cards have big, beautiful pictures, and are a perfect addition to your simple machines unit. The set contains 50 eye-catching photo cards, each of an item that uses one of the simple machines to work. Children identify which of the simple machines they see in each of the photographs, and lay the card beneath its corresponding simple machine label.

This product follows guidelines for authentic Montessori classification cards. Each simple machine category has 8 picture cards to go with it. The "levers" group has two extra cards, which can be included, or removed as desired.

One definition card is included for each type of simple machine. Please note that this particular product only includes definition cards with no blanks. We do include the definition cards with blanks in the Simple Machines Four Part Nomenclature Card set that we also have available as a bundle with this product.

The cards can be printed onto white card stock, and laminated if desired. Grey lines let you know where to cut. Below each image is a color coded label you can also cut out and glue to the back of the card. The labels tell you what each photo is, and what simple machine category the item belongs to. After completing the sorting exercise, children can turn the cards over to check their results.

The title cards have options available with representative images in their backgrounds, so even if you are working with children who aren't strong readers, they can still use the cards.
