Description
Help your 7th grade students practice describing the likelihood of an event, based on the probability of the event, with these guided notes. Students will compare the probability of two simple events and decide which event is more likely based on the probability. They will describe the probability of an event as impossible, unlikely, neither likely nor unlikely, likely, and certain. These notes will help your students with the following standard:
✅Understand that the probability of a chance event is a number between 0 and 1 that expresses the likelihood of the event occurring. Larger numbers indicate greater likelihood. A probability near 0 indicates an unlikely event, a probability around 1/2 indicates an event that is neither unlikely nor likely, and a probability near 1 indicates a likely event.
These notes fit in a binder.
Here are some different ways that you can use this resource:
✅Whole class discussion/guided notes.
✅In class practice where students work together in small groups.
