Description
Are you building a thinking classroom?
Do you want to randomize your students in a new fun way?
Do you want to be able to change how you randomize your groups?
Do you want to easily figure out which card you are missing in your stack?
Then Randomizing Cards are for you!
These easy to use cards are great for any classroom at any age, in any subject!
How do Randomizing Cards work?
After setting up the cards (I have mine taped on tables), I let each student choose a card as they enter the room every class period. Once everyone is in, we spin a wheel and that determines which of the four categories we are looking at that day. The six categories are: card value, shape, domino, and sweet treat. Students then find their seat based on what was spun and that is their seat for the day!
The best part about using cards like these is it is harder for students to move around and choose who they sit with, because it's totally random and I'm in the room when it happens! There is little room for trading cards!
If you lose a card, or one ends up torn, it is very easy to figure out which one you are missing. When printed front to back, there are corresponding numbers on each of the cards. Just put the cards in order, see which number you are missing and print out that page and boom, you're done! No need to order another set!
How many groups can I create? These cards are set up to create 12 groups of 3 students.
What is the maximum number of students I can have? These cards are set for 36 students.
