Description
The product reintroduces students how to simplify each step of the quadratic formula while building confidence they can do it. Self checking as well as cut and paste activity for classwork. The solutions are complex; the real and imaginary parts are rational (No radicals in the solution). Includes guided notes, practice, and classwork.
- Guided Notes: The front page has two problems with directions for simplifying the quadratic formula. Along with space to work out the problem. The back has five problems to solve. The problems increase with the amount of information that needs to be filled in.
- Practice:The front page has questions that ask to solve pieces or parts of the quadratic formula: for example, solve under the square root sign, solve with the square root sign, and solve with plus minus sign. The back has 4 quadratic equations to solve with the quadratic formula where students need to fill in pieces of the solution. (20 Problems)
- Classwork:Problems 1-6: Using a calculator to square a negative number.Problems 7-18. The problems are different stages or pieces in solving the quadratic formula. Students can self check after three problems, by adding their solutions. 19-20 are solving a quadratic using the quadratic formula.
- Cut & Paste Activity: This activity is to help introduce students how to solve using the quadratic formula and build confidence that they can do it. Each step in solving has a different symbol that corresponds to the answer pieces. For grading purposes the symbols have numbers. One answer sheet of paper has 2 sets of answers. Cut on the thicker line to seperate.
- Answer Keys: Answer keys are provided for each assignment.
