Description

Simplifying fractions is not only difficult conceptually, but the steps are just as confusing. This is especially difficult for special education students with learning disabilities since they have difficulty following multiple step directions. The step- by-step direction on SIMPLIFYING FRACTION MAT makes this process less confusing and easier to understood. There are three different versions: blackline, color coded font, and color coded areas. Take a look at the preview file for more information.

This worksheet can be used to address the following common core standards:
Grade 3-5 Numbers and Operations - Fractions
Grade 6 Expressions and Equations: Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division to divide fractions by fractions.
