OVERVIEW:

These 30 task cards were created to help students apply, practice, and review simplifying fractions.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

30 Task Cards: These task cards come four to a page and will have students simplifying fractions.

There are THREE levels of cards:

  • The first ten cards ask students to identify the simplest form of a given fraction.

  • The next ten cards ask students to finish writing a given fraction in simplest form (ie. identify the missing numerator or denominator).

  • The next ten cards ask students to write a given fraction in simplest form.

4 Challenge Cards: These challenge cards come four to a page and will have students solving more complex problems (identify ALL the fractions that can be simplified to the given fraction).

3 Task Card Options: Within this resource, you will find a black and white version, a Google Slides version, and a self-correcting Google Form version of BOTH the task cards and challenge cards.

2 Recording Sheet Options: Within this resource, you will two different recording sheet options (one with more work space) and a recording sheet for the challenge cards as well.

Answer Key: An answer key is included.

Simplifying fractions continues to be hard for students, so I love the fact that there are multiple cards to allow for multiple opportunities to practice this skill.

Standards-aligned
This was a great resource, however when my students took the google version there were multiple mistakes in the answer key that I had to go in and correct. That is pretty frustrating when you add a resource and assign it, then your students find multiple mistakes in answers
