Description
This is a digital version of my Simplifying Radical Expressions Task Cards. There's also a hybrid print/digital version available.
These task cards can be used on a computer that has PowerPoint installed OR a device that is connected to the internet and has access to Google Slides.
These 18 task cards are a great way to challenge your Algebra students as a review of concepts covered in class including simplifying radicals, using the product rule to simplify radicals, and using the quotient rule to simply radicals. These task cards will test your students’ proficiency in simplifying radical expressions.
Standards:
Expressions and Equations Work with radicals and integer exponents.
- CCSS.Math.Content.8.EE.A.1 Know and apply the properties of integer exponents to generate equivalent numerical expressions. For example, 32 × 3–5 = 3–3 = 1/33 = 1/27.
- CCSS.Math.Content.8.EE.A.2 Use square root and cube root symbols to represent solutions to equations of the form x2 = p and x3 = p, where p is a positive rational number. Evaluate square roots of small perfect squares and cube roots of small perfect cubes. Know that √2 is irrational.
Instructions:
1. Upload the Task Cards to your Google Drive. (BOTH teacher and students need Google accounts. These are FREE.)
2. Open the Task Cards in Google Slides
3. Give each student a copy of the Simplifying Radical Expressions Task Cards Answer Sheet
