This is a pack of ten tangram puzzles which is designed to help students master the skill of simplifying square roots

These puzzles are designed so they can be printed front to back on most printers, giving two puzzles per page. When printed front to back, each puzzle piece will be two-sided, but the sides can be easily differentiated by the pattern printed on the piece.

Students should cut out the pieces carefully. Once all of the pieces have been cut out, students will choose any boxed expression on one of pieces to reduce. Once reduced, students should find their answer on another tangram piece and place the two pieces beside each other. If students have simplified each question correctly, the tangram pieces will form an image. You may wish to have students record their images or their simplifications on their own piece of paper.
