Description

This activity is perfect as a way for students to practice simplifying and solving algebraic expressions with a fun Fall theme! The scavenger hunt part of the activity is SUPER easy to set up!

Students solve the 12 task cards and self-check their answers by finding the candy corn number card around that room that contains a mystery letter to help them solve the joke on the back of their answer sheet. I created 4 extra candy corn number cards so students can't guess the answers easily. Once the 12 task cards and candy corn answer cards are printed and laminated you can use them year after year, only having to reprint the student answer sheets. Easy prep!

Students practice combining like terms, the distributive property, order of operations, and the value of the variable in the last four task cards is a negative number. This is a perfect enrichment activity for younger students as well!
