Single Digit Addition with Vertical Command Cards
Goal: To learn how to add single-digit addends (0-9).
Who It's For: Great for young kids (5-8 years old) and anyone who wants to get better at adding single digit addends (0-9).
Materials: An interactive digital easel, featuring vertically oriented single digit addition command cards, moveable colour coded multi-unit base ten blocks, and draggable colour coded unit and ten digits.
Command Cards: Each card shows a single digit addition problem.
Different Levels: There are easy problems (like 2 + 1) and harder ones (like 8 + 9) for everyone to try.
Work Independently using the List of Sums: Easily navigate between sums with a click or two. Students can choose the order of the sums they want to work on.
Moveable Multi-Unit Blocks: Use the multi-unit blocks to build the addition train and count.
Drag-and-Drop Interaction: Students are tasked with dragging the correct unit and ten digit to their respective places on the command card to complete the sum.
Self-Marking Mechanism: Once the digits are placed, the easel instantly evaluates the response and gives immediate feedback, showing if the answer is correct or needs revision.
