Description

About This Assignment:

This Skin Cancer Tri Fold Brochure can be printed and used with a textbook OR it can be used as a webquest, the links are embedded in the assignment. If you use it as a webquest the students can type in their answers.

Your choice!  :)

I personally like to print them out so the students hand write it while using the computers for their research. When they hand write it they also get to draw a picture for their front cover.

Topics Covered:

  • What is skin cancer?
  • 3 main types of skin cancer
  • Symptoms of Melanoma
  • Tanning
  • Dermatology
  • Sunburns
  • Skin Cancer Prevention

Great value
Some of the links took the kids to the same webpage, which made it kind of confusing to them. I had to tell them. It was also just kinda meh.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I appreciate the heads-up about the links — I’ll review them and make improvements so it’s clearer for students.

Students enjoyed it and were engaged. The linked websites would be better if there were more visuals and images. The Stanford website was all text.

This was a great extension activity for lessons on the integumentary system. The students seemed to get a lot out of it.
