Description

Multiplication Facts are best taught using models like skip counting number lines.

Skip Counting Multiplication Facts math center is a hands-on activity that takes students’ thinking beyond procedures and rote memorization. This engaging resource activates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, all while building a true understanding of multiplication. Students must place 10 number tiles (0-9) on the Time to Tile cards in order to correctly solve the multiplication facts according to the number lines.

This resource is now provided in printable and digital formats (Google Slides).

This resource includes:

  • 30 different Time to Tile PRINTABLE cards
  • An “Answer Recording Sheet,” where students can record their answers so they can be corrected later. This allows the resource to be used as a perfect independent or center activity.
  • Answer keys
  • Management and organization tips for successfully implementing Time to Tile in your classroom.

I love these number tile puzzles. I use them mostly for fast finishers, but sometimes use them as a math station. I appreciate the recording sheet for accountability!

The tile activities are one of my all-time favourite math activities for early finishers, centers, and individual or partner work! All that is needed is to print on colored paper and laminate. I particularly love that it's self-checking but not on a device and that it doesn't require any reading, making it accessible to all of my students regardless of reading level.
