Description

Slope Formula: Triples Activity

This is a great way for students to practice finding slope given two points using the slope formula. There are 30 total cards in which there are 10 sets of 3 cards with the same answer. I created this activity as a twist on the classic task cards.

Students can work on their own or in teams to find all the slopes. Once they have found all slopes, I have them cut them out, staple their "triples", and place them in a zip-lock bag for a classwork grade. An answer key is provided to ensure the correct cards are matched together.

A fun activity but I wish there was a different way to organize the activities (like the cards were small and there was a template to glue them to)

We used this as a game. This resource was good for my middle school students who do not have IEPs, yet they have math challenges that keep them from being successful in the general math classroom. They come to my class for math support. This resource breaks down the information in ways that meet the needs of most of my learners. I do have a high ESOL population, so I would be interested in some of these activities being offered in other languages.

One can never go wrong with a Triples activity from All Things Algebra!! I love the activity b/c the students have feedback when they have or don't have matches. The students love the activity b/c they get to cut things out and feel better about the concept.
