Description
Brief Notes on Slope Guided Notes
I typically teach this lesson two different days: one day about slope from lines on a graph and another day to review this plus how to get slope from equations. I find my students do better with this method as it reminds kids how to approach slope and what it is before giving them the equations.
I teach students with brief notes that allot more time in class for students to practice material. I recommend splitting this lesson into two assignments, but also splitting the notes on the material so students can use the majority of class time experiencing and mastering problems on their own for each part. I have built the notes to have all the material on it so that it may be used as one lesson with one assignment for the scenario that your students already have a good grasp on what slope is or if you are tight on time.
My students are behind in math skills and have time and time again flunked out of math classes or have been expelled. I aim to use short concise notes to get students back on track and build up their math skills.
I often use Kuta worksheets or similar assignments for students to practice skills taught in this lesson.
