Description
This was created for my Moderate/Severe Special Day Class, ages 14-22, however, it can easily be used for k-2 grades. I've included the standards, or "Functional Performance Indicators" from the SEACO binder. I have students come up to the board and circle the correct number; we count outloud; they connect written numbers to number icons. You can uses this to apply a lot of different standards, such as on task behavior, or motor skills as well. I typically will use this lesson for two or three weeks with the students to practice routines in the morning and to track their improvements in completing the counting. Expectations are adapted to the abilities of the students and their IEP's.
This can also be used as a supplementary unit to a class reading of "Golldilocks and the Three Bears". Please let me know how you like it and how it works for your class. Enjoy!
