Description

Sssssnakes are so interesting! This unit contains eight educational activities from different areas of the curriculum that you can include in your snake unit. There are also a couple activities that extend Stellaluna by Janelle Cannon. The activities are in PDF format so they can be accessed on both PCs and Macs. Included:

1. Snake or Not a Snake: Sort out the characteristic cards according to whether they feature a characteristic of a snake or not and place on the correct side of the sorting mat.

2. Pluralssssss: Sort out the word cards to the correct column on the plurals mat according to whether they are made plural by adding -s, -es, or changing the y to i and adding -es. The rules for making plurals are in each colum.

3. Measuring Activity: Measure the length of the snakes to the nearest centimeter

4. Slithering Sentences: Put each of the snakes together puzzle style to create a snake themed sentence

5. True or False: Answer each of the true or false questions about snakes

6. Story Sequencing: Put the story sequencing strips on order to retell the story of Verdi

7. Context Clues: Read each sentence that features an unfamiliar vocabulary word from Verdi and circle the meaning below that works best in the sentence

8. Who's Afraid of Snakes: Complete the creative writing activity to tell why you believe so many people are afraid of snakes

9. Activity Instruction Letter: Explains how to do each activity
