These 20 task cards are great for an enrichment challenge! Your students can stretch their brains and work on their visual-spatial skills as they try to constuct 3D models from 2D images.

Your students are shown top, side, and front 2D views and told how many blocks to use, but none of the pictures show all of the required blocks. Students will have to manipulate their models to see if they match the different points of view. It takes perseverance and effort to visualize solutions that fit all the requirements. The cards are to be used with the challenge on the front and the solution on the back. Therefore, you should use 2-sided print settings for pages 2-11, or just print the cards 1-sided and then copy them 2-sided. In addition to these cards, you will need to use Snap Cubes. I bought mine on eBay, but you can also find them on Amazon. These challenges are not designed for Unifix cubes.

Slice each colorful sheet into quarters to create the cards. If you follow the printing directions above, the challenge and its corresponding solution will be front-to-back on each card. I recommend laminating the cards, hole punching the corners, and placing them on binder rings. You could also use cardstock for more durable cards.
