This presentation, told from the point-of-view of Socrates himself is an introduction to the Socratic Seminar discussion format. I use it in an 8th grade language arts classroom to give kids the rules of the discussion format that we use throughout the rest of the year. I use the rules slide to review the guidelines each time we discuss.

I absolutely LOVE this resource my 7th and 8th graders - it was a great resource and gave me GREAT ideas on some ways I could adapt it in my classroom. My students got to the point that we used seminar throughout the entire year on Friday's they knew it was seminar day and prepped for it. Thank you!
Just a bit boring for my students, unfortunately. But contained great info!
A couple of interesting facts, but the presentation style and its wordiness seemed made by a sixth grader.
I use this every year to prep my students for their first Socratic Seminar. They love having the background information.
I have used this resource with 5th -7th grade students over the past several years. It is a great introduction to the Socratic and the reasons behind it. My scholars love the drama of Socrates life and death and appreciate so much the importance of the question above the answer.
